Privacy Policy

Last updated November 2, 2026

This policy explains how Capes Archive ("the service") handles information from a Google Account. The service is operated by Matthew Olexiewicz, an individual, for personal use. It has one user, its owner.

Google user data the service accesses

With the owner's approval at sign-in, the service requests read-only access to the following parts of the owner's own Google Account:

The service never requests permission to send, change or delete anything in the Google Account.

How the information is used

Google user data is used only to provide the service's single purpose: keeping a private, searchable copy of the owner's own information for the owner. It is not used for advertising, for creating profiles, for credit or lending decisions, or for any purpose not described here.

How it is stored and protected

Copies are stored on equipment in the owner's home in the United States. Access is limited to the owner. Sign-in credentials issued by Google are kept in a protected location on the same equipment and are used only to reach the owner's own account.

Sharing and transfer

Google user data is not sold, rented or shared. It is not transferred to any other person, company or app, except if the law requires it or it is necessary to protect the security of the service. No person other than the owner reads the data.

Limited Use

Capes Archive's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

Copies are kept until the owner deletes them. The owner can delete any or all stored copies at any time. On request to the contact address below, all stored Google user data will be deleted.

Withdrawing access

Access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions by removing Capes Archive. After that the service can no longer read the account, and the owner may also delete the stored copies.

Children

The service is not directed to children and is not used by anyone other than its owner.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date. Google user data will not be used in any new way without first updating this policy.
